Lucknow: Dr. Ram Manohar Lohia Institute of Medical Sciences (RMLIMS), Lucknow, observed National Pharmacovigilance Week (September 17–23) with a series of awareness activities under the theme “Your Safety Just a Click Away – Report to PvPI.” The programme was organised by the Department of Pharmacology under the guidance of Institute Director Prof. C.M. Singh and Dean Prof. Pradyumn Singh.
Throughout the week, the institute’s ADR Monitoring Centre carried out awareness campaigns across various OPD areas by distributing pamphlets. The drive covered all super-specialty and broad-specialty departments, RPG Hospital at Shaheed Path campus, ART and DOTS centres, as well as urban and rural health centres of the Department of Community Medicine.
At the inaugural session, a dedicated QR code for ADR reporting was launched as part of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare’s initiative to strengthen patient safety and pharmacovigilance. The launch was done by guest speaker Dr. R.K. Dixit, Professor and Head of Pharmacology, KGMU, along with Chief Medical Superintendent Prof. Vikram Singh, Registrar Prof. Subrat Chandra, and Pharmacology Head & AMC Coordinator Prof. Arpita Singh.
As part of the awareness activities, a poster competition for nursing students was organised on the theme, with winners receiving medals and certificates.

Delivering a keynote lecture on “Monitoring ADRs – A Step Towards Patient Safety,” Dr. R.K. Dixit highlighted the critical role of pharmacovigilance in ensuring effective and safe healthcare.
The programme was attended by faculty members Dr. Dharmendra Srivastava, Dr. Richa Chaudhary, Dr. Ajay Kumar Verma, Dr. Pankaj Agrawal, Dr. Sumit Dixit, Chief Nursing Officer, nursing staff, nursing students, and members of the organising team including Dr. Pooja Shukla, Dr. Garima Adhaulia, and Dr. Govind Mishra.
